Dr. Chod's healthcare executive search practice is national in scope and highly focused on academic physician leaders, including deans, faculty practice plan leadership, department chairs, division heads, and academic hospital and integrated delivery system leaders, including CMOs, CQOs, and group practice leaders. Ron has extensive firsthand knowledge of key business and leadership issues facing health care institutions and has access to academic and hospital leaders throughout the United States. Dr. Chod has more than 25 years of experience in clinical practice, academic leadership, and integrated delivery system administration. Ron accepted his first leadership role as Vice President for Clinical Affairs at BJC Healthcare in St. Louis in 1994. He subsequently served as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Clinical Affairs at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, with administrative appointment as Executive Director, Faculty Practice Plan, and academic appointment as Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In these leadership roles, Ron was primarily responsible for strategic business development for Washington University Physicians (FPP), the faculty practice plan composed of 800 faculty physicians with annual net clinical revenues exceeding $450 million including development of geographically distributed off-campus clinical services. Ron worked closely with the academic department chairs in recruiting key clinical faculty, improving clinical reimbursement strategies, physician integration strategies, and implementation of physician incentive compensation plans. Dr. Chod is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He served his internship and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. In 2003, Ron earned his MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Chod serves on the teaching faculty of American College of Physician Executives, lecturing in the Managing Physician Performance in Organizations course. Ron is an author and invited lecturer on a wide variety of academic and integrated delivery system business development topics including physician integration, physician-hospital alignment strategies and joint ventures, and clinical quality improvement. |
