We are privileged to be working with Southeast Missouri Hospital (SMH) in the recruitment of Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing. SMH is a 269-bed regional medical complex serving 600,000 people in 22 counties of southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. Located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, SMH has been delivering care the community since 1928. Today, the hospital boasts a Level III Neonatal Care Unit, as well as their designated Centers of Excellence in their Heart, Cancer, Orthopedics, Women’s and Children’s, Brain and Spine and Emergency Services. In fact, the Heart Hospital has been ranked in the top 10% nationally by HealthGrades - the highest rating for the region. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Planning and Business Development, the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing will be responsible for managing the strategic and business planning process; directing the marketing, public relations, business development and planning departments; developing brand strategy and marketing plans; managing internal and external communications; overseeing market research and analysis; directing website development and strategy; and collaborating with hospital executives and physician practices. Successful candidates will have: - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Planning & Development, Branding or related degree is required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in healthcare strategic planning, marketing, communications and corporate branding.
- Minimum of 5 years direct experience as lead strategist for Hospital or Health System; Experience in community relations and corporate social responsibility is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities and a team mentality.
